StoneBridge Growth Groups

Why are small groups important?
Paul writes in Acts 20.20, "I have taught you publicly and from house to house." This was the pattern of the first century church: to meet in large group gatherings for worship and in smaller groups for fellowship. Each fulfilled a purpose the other could not. At StoneBridge we share this Acts 20.20 Vision.

What kinds of groups do you offer?

Why would I want to be in a Growth Group?
Groups are a place for you to make friends and get connected. Growth groups are also an opportunity for you to understand and apply biblical truths to your life. Growth groups are where "outsiders" become "insiders," unconnected people get connected, the impersonal becomes personal, and "the church" becomes "my church."

What happens at a Growth Group meeting?
Most of our growth groups meet for about 1 1/2- 2 hours. They typically feature refreshments, a time of study (either Bible study or a faith-related book), and prayer. In a growth group, you can ask questions, participate in discussions, and listen to and share insights and experiences.

How often are new groups offered?
New groups are launched three times a year, with registration in January, May, and September.

What if I don't mesh with a Group?
We want you to feel comfortable with the folks in your group. If a particular group isn't a good match, feel free to attend another. Remember that our Growth Groups are limited to 6-10 weeks (unless you want to keep meeting), which means that opportunities to leave a group and join another are built into the calendar. Another idea is to invite people you already know and…

Host a small group. All it takes to be a HOST is…
• Have a heart for people,
• Open your home to guests,
• Serve some coffee or light refreshments, and
• Turn on your DVD (for video based studies).

Our pastors and Growth Group Ministry Team will be there to offer support, encouragement, and training to help you in your ministry and service as a Growth Group host or leader.
