StoneBridge Community Church Board of Deacons
Since its earliest days, deacons have served in the Christian church. According to the Book of Acts, the church called deacons to care for its rapidly growing body of believers within a year of Pentecost. The name deacon comes from the Greek word diakonos meaning “minister” or “servant.”

The deacons of StoneBridge Community Church “minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to anyone who may be in distress.” This happens in many ways: visits, prayer, food, hosting funeral receptions, referrals to social services, and financial assistance.

Many people feel hesitant, reluctant, or embarrassed asking for help. Our deacons understand that and handle all requests with sensitivity, confidentiality, and discretion. No request is discussed outside of the twelve current members of our deacons board unless you specifically ask (for example, you may want us to add your name to the prayer list or contact one of the pastors for you).
